Douglas Cataraha, 80, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 9 at home. Born in Hawaii, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and welder for EM Rivera Construction Co. Services at a later date. Survived by wife, Caroline Cataraha; sons, Douglas Cataraha Jr. and Scott Cataraha; daughters, Cheryl (Garrett) Cataraha Cagampang and Donna (Fred) Guillermo; brothers, Ronald Cataraha, Steven (JaneEllen Poggioli) Cataraha and Willy Cataraha; sisters, Gloria (William) Hing and Cholae (Tim) Penovaroff; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Christopher Marasciullo, 69, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 23. Born in New York, he was a retired timeshare salesman, photographer, artist, lifeguard, bartender, medic, racquetball player and kayaker. Dennis Masashi Motoyama, 68, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 8 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired landscaper. Private services at a later date. George Leon Iolani Pe‘a, 82, of Hilo died Nov. 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired licensed massage therapist at many resort hotels, member of the Keaukaha Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Friday (Nov. 25) at the Hilo Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Committal service noon at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. Casual attire. May Shizue Ushijima, 87, of Hilo died Nov. 5 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was retired from both the Hawaii County Data Processing Department and the former C. Brewer & Co., past president and member of Taishoji Fujinkai and member of Taishoji Soto Mission and Hilo Daijingu. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sons, Wayne (Barbara) Ushijima of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Glenn Ushijima of Foothill Ranch, Calif., and Bruce Ushijima of Hilo; brother, Charles (Julie) Tomita of Las Vegas; a granddaughter.
