Rodney Charles Anjo, 76, of Hilo died July 21 at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. Celebration of life 10 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 9) at Kakaako Waterfront Park in Honolulu. Kevin Keo Kiyonaga, 60, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 17 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Wailuku, Maui, he was a certified auto body technician at Kraftsman Auto Body and banquet porter at the former Keauhou Beach Hotel. A “car run” is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Kona Palisades Pavilion with a celebration of life to follow at 1 p.m. at the pavilion. Derick Kembo Macanas, 58, of Pepeekeo died Aug. 15 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was an insurance adjuster for John Mullen and Co., Inc., and hunter and gatherer. Rosie Leimomi (McCool Brede) Manner, 75, of Keaau died Sept. 1. Born in Honolulu, she retired as a sales clerk for Ali‘i Petroleum and was a graduate of Waianae High School. David Thomas Nielson, 67, of Hilo, died Sept. 15, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Pahoa Public Library. Private services held. James “Jim” Robert Simpson, 84, of Waiohinu died Oct. 3 in Kailua-Kona. Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was a college football coach and middle school teacher.
