A 41-year-old Captain Cook man faces drug and forgery charges after police executed a search warrant on a Bruner Road home last week.
Matthew B. Cummings is charged with two counts of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and single counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, second-degree promotion of a detrimental drug first-degree forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
During the search on Sept. 28, investigators reportedly seized nearly 51 grams of methamphetamine, 140 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and equipment related to the production of counterfeit money, plus several counterfeit $100 bills. Police have initiated a joint investigation with the U.S. Secret Service in response to the recovered counterfeit currency.
Cummings posted bail $27,525 bail and his initial court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 27 in Kona District Court.
