Roy Kakulu Alameida, 77, of Keaau died July 25 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center in Hilo. Born in Waialua, Oahu, he was a retired Kamehameha Schools Hawaiian history teacher and U.S. Air Force veteran. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Campus William Charles Lunalilo Center in Keaau. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Visitation again 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Bernice Pauahi Bishop Memorial Chapel of the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus in Honolulu. Orlando Danilo Aguinaldo Albano, 63, of Keaau died Aug. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired papaya farmer for Tropical Hawaiian Products. Leo D. Brown, 87, of San Antonio, formerly of Hilo, died June 8 at home. He was a U.S. Air Force retiree, and while in Hilo was employed by the former Comtec and Jones Spacelink cable television companies, and was resident manager of the Hilo Lagoon Centre. Survived by wife, Terry Brown; sister, Della Williams; sons, Douglas (Joann) Brown, Dennis (Maria) Brown, David (Ivette) Brown, Donald (Theresa) Brown and Kelsey (Kimberly) Brown; daughter Wendy (Jeff) Fisher; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Manuel “Manny” Gregory Anthony Carvalho, 11, of Hilo died Aug. 28 in Honokaa. Born in Hilo, he was a sixth-grader at Waiakea Intermediate School and member of Hilo Junior Tennis Club and Boy Scouts of America Aloha Council Troop 19.
