This Saturday, Hawaii Island Movers Baseball of Pacific Region Baseball Inc. will be flying in a mix of players from four teams to Francis Wong Stadium for a free exhibition baseball game featuring some of the top current Pacific collegiate players from Hawaii.

The 12:30 p.m. game will feature the Movers versus the Mixed Movers, with both teams coached by Rich Olsen, Jim Killion, Les Akeo and Ikaika Dupont.

Admission is free.

A special free youth baseball clinic, open for keiki ages 7 to 14, will be run from 10 a.m to 12 noon Saturday at the stadium.

Players participating in the clinic should sign up with Wayne Yamauchi at yamauchiw002@hawaii.rr.com or call (808) 895-9696.

The exhibition and clinic will provide Big Island youth and coaches a great opportunity to learn from skilled college baseball coaches and players.

The nonprofit Pacific Region Baseball Inc. is headed by Don Takaki and past professional player and pitching coach Richard Olsen.

The collegiate ball players play the summer season with games in Hawaii and travel throughout the Pacific and Asia.

“The education of cultural exchange and goodwill through regional college baseball is an important development of character for all the players who play for Hawaii in Japan, Korea and the mainland,” Olsen said in a press release.

“We are specially flying in these (players) because we want all the Big Island youth players, teams and families to all share in the excitement of watching our collegiate ball players this Saturday.”

Concessions will be open all day, and the gates open at 9 a.m.
