Hilo-born recording artist Kalani Pe‘a won his third Grammy award Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Pe‘a won in the Best Regional Roots Album category for his album “Kau Ka Pe‘a.” The album, Pe‘a’s third, took the category over four albums from Louisiana-based artists.

He is now three-for-three in Grammy nominations and wins. Pe‘a’s debut album, “E Walea,” captured his first Grammy in that category in 2017, and his second album, “No ‘Ane‘i,” took the coveted statuette in 2019.
