Police are seeking public leads about a suspect in an armed robbery Monday night at the Prince Kuhio Plaza Longs Drugs store in Hilo.

Officers responded at about 9:45 p.m. to the pharmacy after receiving calls about a masked suspect brandishing a firearm who had entered the store.

The suspect demanded prescription medication and then left the scene in an SUV-type vehicle, possibly a silver-colored Nissan, police said.

The suspect is as being described as “stocky,” between 5-feet-6-inches and 6-feet tall, wearing long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and tactical-type vest. His head and face were concealed.

Anyone who may know the identity of the suspect is asked to call the police department’s nonemergency number at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
