Roxanne “Roxy” Aloha Martines Gouveia-Torres, 43, of Keaukaha died Feb. 12 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a home health care worker for Bayada Home Health Care in Hilo and Easter Seals Hawaii. Private services at a later date. Survived by husband, Harlen Kaeo Torres of Hilo; sons, Harlen Martines Gouveia-Torres and Hayden Martines Gouveia-Torres of Hilo; brother, Alan (Monica) Hudman of Hawaiian Paradise Park; sister, Amy Hudman of Honomu; brother, Andrew (Ashley) Hudman of Washington; hanai sister, Keahi Pavao of Hilo; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Genaro Gaoiran Juan, 79, of Waimea died Jan. 23 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he worked 35 years at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Funeral Mass 1 p.m. Saturday (Mar. 5) at Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea. Burial to follow at Waimea Catholic Cemetery. Light pupus and beverages afterwards at his residence. Masks and social distancing required. Survived by sons, Gene Juan and Lito Juan; brother, Roger (Concordia) Juan; three grandchildren; a niece and a grandnephew. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Gifford A. Nakapa‘ahu, 75, of Hilo died Feb. 20. Born in Honolulu and raised in San Diego he was a member of the Tapers Union Local 1944. No services. Yasue Watanabe Okino, 88, of Captain Cook died Jan. 12 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, she was a retired elementary school teacher, member of Hawaii State Teachers Association and Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Mid-Pacific Institute alumna. Services held. Survived by sons, Cody (Melissa) Okino and Ky (Bridgette) Okino of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Shay Dee (Ronald Daog) Okino of Las Vegas; brothers, Richard (Barbara) Watanabe of Kailua-Kona and George (Hatsue) Watanabe of Pearl City, Oahu; sisters, Lynn (Sandy) Hirano and Amy (David) Myer of Hilo; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
