Nearly 300 new COVID cases were reported today on the Big Island.

According to the state Department of Health, 290 new cases have been reported today on the Big Island, with 3,512 new cases reported statewide.

The average daily case count for Hawaii County over the past week is 324. The positive test rate both statewide and in Hawaii County is 20%.

Today eight new COVID hospitalizations were reported statewide, and five COVID-related deaths. The statewide cumulative death toll is 1,110.
