Gov. David Ige recently released $1.9 million in capital improvement project funding to finance progress toward a new public library in Waikoloa.

State Sen. Lorraine Inouye, who represents District 4, which includes Waikoloa, thanked Ige for the funding.

“Residents of Waikoloa have been asking for a new library for a long time,” Inouye said Tuesday in a statement. “Securing financing for a new library … is a critical step to ensure that the state delivers on this project.”
