Grand jury selection will take place Thursday at the Hilo courthouse and Friday at the Kona courthouse, per 3rd Circuit Chief Judge Robert Kim.

Gov. Ige’s suspension of the law that requires grand jury impanelment by Jan. 15 gave the chief judges of each circuit in Hawaii the discretion to decide whether to hold selection, but that was not mentioned in a press release from Ige’s office.

The Tribune-Herald regrets the error.
