Bradley “Brad” Mark Ellis, 68, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 11 at home. Born in Lynwood, Calif., he was a retired registered nurse and member of United Church of God. Private service at a later date. Survived by wife, Sherry Ellis of Kailua-Kona; mother, Joan Schulz of California; siblings, Steve (Denise) Ellis, David Ellis, Greg (Judy) Ellis, Theresa (Frank) Bordonaro and Tom Ellis of California; nieces and nephews. John “Cakes” Griffey, 76, of South Kona died Nov. 23 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Grants Pass, Ore., he was a retired Realtor and former owner of Tropical Tones Painting. Private service to be held. Survived by daughter, Jamaica (Edward) Canas of South Kona; sons, Giovanni (Alena) Griffey and Austin (Kamalani Lindsey) Griffey of South Kona; eight grandchildren; hanai family, nieces and nephews. Tyson Moses Punahele Manalani “Puna” Kapahu, aka “Bumbuyulearn,” 33, of Hilo died Nov. 28. Born in Honolulu, he was a security guard, 2006 graduate of Kea’au High School and member of New Apostolic Church of Hilo. Public visitation 9-11 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 21) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Private funeral service at 11 a.m. Public graveside committal service noon at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire; face masks and social distancing required. Lloyd P.C.W. Lee Sr., 74, of Hilo died Dec. 4 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Maui County civil engineer and engineer for AECOM Co. Visitation 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 21) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Face masks and social distancing required. Lyle G. “Bud” Phillips Jr., 81, of Honomu, died July 7 in Florida. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired engineer and fleet manager for the former Hawaii Electric Light Co., former fleet administrator for Hawaiian Electric Co., president of Phillips Pacific Equipment, graduate of Punahou School and Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, U.S. Army National Guard veteran, served as master of Hawaiian Masonic Lodge on Oahu and Kilauea Masonic Lodge in Hilo and was state Grand Master of Masons in 2003-2004, and was active in Shriners, Shrine Club, York Rite and Jesters. Celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 16) at Hawaii Yacht Club, 1739C Ala Moana Blvd. in Honolulu. A Masonic service will be held on Hawaii Island at a future date. No flowers. Memorial donations to Shriners Hospital for Children-Honolulu, 1310 Punahou St., Honolulu, HI 96826. Survived by wife, Mary Begier of Honomu; daughter, Dana (Darryl) Roberts; sons, Lyle G. Rodney Edward Torres, 81, of Ocean View died Nov. 25 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Honolulu, he was a cattleman for Parker and Kapapala ranches, dairy farmer and worked for the City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation. Celebration of life at a later date.
