The Hawaii County will hose a third Revitalize Puna community event on Jan. 11.
The Revitalize Puna events are “community activations” held quarterly by the county’s Disaster Recovery Division and feature projects for the community to help boost its resilience.
The third Revitalize Puna follows a theme of “Community Discovery” and will feature updates on the Kilauea eruption recovery and the reopening of the Pohoiki Boat Ramp, the launch of a public planning process for investments in Isaac hale Beach Park, resources for financial, housing and mental health assistance, and more.
A collective art activity, a keiki craft station and food trucks will also be available.
“Six months have passed since our first Revitalize Puna activation, and we have much to share and discuss – from opportunities to shape the future of Isaac Hale Beach Park to the numerous projects being headed by community members through Resilience Capacity Areas and Action Teams,” said Disaster Recover Officer Douglas Le. “Join us and be a part of empowering Puna.”
While the event is free to all residents, participants are encouraged to register at bit.ly/RPJan11.
The event will be held Jan. 11 from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Sure Foundation in Puna.
