Wanda Pla Dupont, 69, of Hilo died Oct. 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Oahu, she was a waitress at the former Hawaii Naniloa Resort, Restaurant Osaka, Hukilau Restaurant and Sun Sun Lau Restaurant. Celebration of life noon Saturday, Dec. 11, at her home, 40 Hokupaa St.. Survived by husband, Howard Kaleo “Bozo” Dupont of Hilo; son, Kenward C. (Jerry Hoffled) Dupont of Hilo; daughter, Yolanda (Christopher J. Kaukini) Dupont of Hilo; sister in law, Joann Pla of Honolulu; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; cousins. Robert Hiroshi Kinoshita, 100, of Hilo died Oct. 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honomu, he was a retired heavy equipment mechanic for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and member of Honomu Hongwanji Mission Kyodan. Private services held. Survived by sons, Nelson (Lucille) Kinoshita of Hilo, Michael (Lydia) Kinoshita of Kaneohe, Oahu, Glenn (Venus) Kinoshita of Honolulu and Norman (Kelly) Kinoshita of Paauilo; brothers, Paul Hitoshi Kinoshita of Pepeekeo and Takeshi Kinoshita of Honolulu; sisters, Chieko “Betty” Goya and Yaeko “Eileen” Taguma of Honolulu, Sueko “Susie” Kinoshita Lee of Kailua, Oahu; sister-in-law, Chiyono Kinoshita of Honolulu; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. Ruth Carmen Lucero, 90, of Mountain View died Oct. 26. Born in Paauhau, she was a retired home companion and member of Mountain View Library Club and Cookbook Club. Private services held. Ward Douglas Pirie, 64, of Hilo died Oct. 5 at home. Born in Hamilton, N.Z., he was a retired state supervisor, member of Big Island Aquarium Society, hunter, classic cars and clock enthusiast, and Boy Scout Troop 78 supporter.
