Gary Lee Bolter, 73, of Hilo died Aug. 18. Born in Denver, he was a Hawaiian priest, military veteran and member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. Diane Borero, 66, of Mountain View died Aug. 28 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a housekeeper for the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. Isamu Fukui, 97, of Laupahoehoe died Aug. 20 at home. Born in Waipunalei, he was retired from the former Hamakua Sugar Co., a volunteer firefighter for Laupahoehoe fire station and member of Papaaloa Hongwanji Mission Kyodan, Laupahoehoe Senior Center and ILWU Pensioners. Nelson Masashi Tsuji, 79, of Hilo died Sept. 16, 2020, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a retired fire chief for the Hawaii County Fire Department, former security officer for Transportation Security Administration at Hilo International Airport and U.S. Army veteran.
