Lloyd Roswell “Kona” Berman, 82, of Kailua-Kona died April 13 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Kealakekua, he was a salesman for Kona Gas Co., bellman at the former Kona Surf Hotel, security officer at Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole, member of Kona Athletics Softball Club, Christ Church Episcopal Church and U.S. Navy veteran. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. He is survived by his wife, Ulalia Kaai Berman of Kailua-Kona; sons, Michael (Lisa) Berman and Analu Berman, all of Kailua-Kona and Lono Ikuwa of Kalaoa, Kona; daughter, Hoolai(Jack) Berman of Kailua-Kona; several brothers and sisters; numerous grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
