Are you a high school student bursting with creativity and feeling constrained with the pandemic remote learning opportunities?

Malama O Puna has a great opportunity for East Hawaii high school students to conduct research into, and learn about biocontrol options for one of the more aggressive invasive species — miconia.

Projects must be submitted by May 17 to be eligible.

Cash prizes of $500 for first place, $400 for second place and $300 for third place will be awarded by judges from the board of Malama O Puna with outside help from some esteemed local educators.

Visit the Malama O Puna Facebook page and send a private message that includes your email address if you’re interested in participating.
