Philip John Jocson Jr., 63, of Kealakekua died March 21 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, he was a technician at Big Island Motors in Kona and Hilo, formerly a maintenance man at Kona Seaside Hotel, driver for Sunshine Helicopters, kitchen help for Huggo’s Restaurant, Teshima’s Restaurant, Sam Choy’s, Kaloko and kitchen helper and cook for the former Buzz’s Steak House. Survived by stepfather, Herbert Yamada of Kealakekua; hanai daughter, Cheyanne Kahele of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Yvonne Keanaaina of Honolulu, Jocelyn Kalilikane of Honalo, Phyllis (John) Alapai of Kealakekua, Theresa (Juan) Villanueva of San Diego and Jennifer Jocson and Victoria Jocson of Seattle; a niece, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
