Peter Holden Clark, 52, of Hilo died March 28 at home. Born in Oakland, Calif., he was a professional snowboarder and fishing charter captain. Memorial at a later date. John “Johnny” Tsuneo Hamano, 81, of Hilo died April 9 at a care home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a retired co-owner of Industrial Iron Works Corp., U.S. Army veteran and member of Tenrikyo Kilauea Church and Tenrikyo Hawaii Shima Kyoyukai. Private services held. Survived by wife, Suk Hui “Suki” Hamano of Hilo; brothers, James (Sandra) Hamano of Hilo and Miles Hamano of Honolulu; sisters, Mae Takamoto of Hawaiian Paradise Park and Emma (Larry) Sousa of Hilo; brother-in-law, Don Nakamura of Hilo; sister-in-law, Charity Hamano of Seattle; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wilfred K. Hussey Jr., 19, of Hilo was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, 31st Infantry, declared missing in action on Dec. 12, 1950, and presumed dead on Dec. 31, 1953. His remains were identified and accounted for on Sept. 10, 2019. He was a 1949 graduate of Hilo High School, played football for the Waiakea Pirates and enlisted in the Army in 1949. He is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and a National Park Service and American Battles Monument. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Korean Service Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Korea War Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation and Good Conduct Medal. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Apr. 23, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Urn committal service at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 pavilion. Seating is limited. Face masks and social distancing required. Aloha attire; no flowers. Perry Alan Miles, 73, of Hilo died April 14 at home. Born in Astoria, Ore., he was a retired U.S. Army chief warrant officer and Vietman War veteran and participant in the Vacationland Community Association. Private services at a later date. James “Kimo” Ryan Perreira, 74, of Hilo died March 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he worked for Hair Tree on Oahu and at Rainbow Hair Designs in Hilo, managed Pi‘ilani Apartments, held an active real estate license, was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, attended UH-Manoa and was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and merchant marine.
