Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island raised more than $10,000 during its 2021 Women Build, which was conducted March 8-15. This annual event is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s. It is usually a build day at a Habitat home; however, because of the pandemic, it was conducted virtually this year.

It was Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island’s first virtual Women Build.

“Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s event a success,” said Shauna Falgout, Habitat’s resource development specialist, “I especially want to thank the Women Build supporters who sponsored 2×4 studs for our Habitat homes and wrote words of encouragement on it for our Habitat families.”

Funds raised will go toward home builds in Puna for families who lost their housing because of the 2018 Kilauea volcano eruption.
