Police promote nine to detective/sergeant

Police Chief Paul Ferreira promoted nine individuals to the rank of sergeant/detective effective Tuesday.

• Detective Anson Caceras, a 17-year veteran, to Kona Criminal Investigations Section. He most recently served as a patrol officer in Hamakua.

• Sgt. Keith Nacis, a 15-year veteran, is now assigned to South Kohala patrol. He most recently served as a patrol officer in Hilo.

• Detective Tyler Prokopec, a 15-year veteran, Kona Criminal Investigations Section. He most recently served as a patrol officer in Kona.

• Sgt. Stephen Parker, an 11-year veteran, is now assigned to North Kohala patrol. He most recently served as a patrol officer in Kona.

• Sgt. Eric Ontiveros, a 10-year veteran, is now assigned to Ka‘u patrol. He most recently served as a patrol officer in South Kohala.

• Sgt. Aaron Kaeo, a 10-year veteran, is now assigned to Puna patrol. He most recently served as a community policing officer in South Kohala.

• Detective Kelena Hookano, a 10-year veteran, is now assigned to Kona Vice Section. He most recently served as a community policing officer in South Kohala.

• Detective Kelsey Kobayashi, a 10-year veteran, is now assigned to Kona Vice Section. He most recently served as a Traffic Enforcement Unit officer in Kona.

• And Sgt. Christopher Jelsma, an eight-year veteran, is now assigned to South Kohala patrol. He most recently served as a patrol officer in Hilo.
