Billy Gene Adam, 87, of Kurtistown died Oct. 11 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Colorado, he was a retired telephone installer. No services. No koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Eiko Amy Tsuzaki Adam of Kurtistown; children, Russell G. Adam of San Jose, Calif., Robin A. Derek G. Alatan, 65, of Keaau died Aug. 13 at home. Louis “Fred” Deetman, 88, of Hilo died Oct. 13 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in The Hague, Netherlands, he was a retired self-employed accountant and tax preparer, elder and member of the Berean Bible Church, served in the Royal Netherlands Army and a member of The Salvation Army advisory board.
