Edward Robert Evans, 91, of Waikoloa died on Sept. 29 at home. Born in Charleston, W. Va., he was an auditor for the State of New Mexico and a U.S. Army veteran. No services. Molly Jane Isotani, 85, of Hilo died on Sept. 16 at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired housekeeper for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Private services held. Beatrice Palenapa Kalai, 97, of Hilo died on Sept. 25 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired social worker from Waimano Home, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and St. George Catholic Church in Waimanalo. Funeral Mass 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Seating limited, masks and social distancing required. Casual attire. No flowers. Oahu services at later date. Survived by daughters, Relda Palenapa and Davenie Kupau; sons, Renny Kalai, Webster Kalai and Milton (Aloha) Kalai; 30 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; 73 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Roberta Ahleen Vea, 73, of Hilo died on Sept. 29 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a former manager of Family Entertainment-Carnival Carnival.
