26th death from COVID-19 outbreak at Hilo veterans home reported today

Hilo Medical Center is reporting today another coronavirus-related death related to a cluster at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home, according to Hawaii County Civil Defense.

That brings to 26 the number of COVID-19 deaths related to the Hilo veterans home outbreak, and the number of COVID-19 deaths overall on Hawaii Island to 28.

Civil Defense reported this morning that there are 13 new COVID-19 cases being monitored by the state Department of Health and there are 16 individuals currently hospitalized on the Big Island for coronavirus-related illness.

There two coronavirus drive-up testing sites today. One is at Afook-Chinen Auditorium in Hilo from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Please enter the testing site from Kuawa Street. The other is at the Keauhou Shopping Center in Kona from 9 a.m-noon.
