DOH reports 114 new COVID-19 cases today statewide, 10 on Big Island

The state Department of Health reported 114 new COVID-19 cases today and three more deaths, bringing the statewide total number of cases to 11,217.

Oahu’s case count is now 10,119.

Hawaii County reported 10 new cases with its total number now at 632.

Two additional COVID-19 death was reported today among residents of the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home by Hawaii County Civil Defense. That brings the number of coronavirus-related deaths at the veterans home to 18, with 19 overall COVID-19 deaths reported on the Big Island.

DOH said today that 12 of those deaths were added to the official state total, making their official count of veterans home deaths 15. Another Oahu death was added to DOH’s official total, which is now at 120.

The deaths at Yukio Okutsu added to the state’s count include 11 men and one woman, all in the 70 to 80-year-old age group and with underlying health conditions. Ten of the residents passed away at the home and two others were hospitalized.

One death was removed from Kauai County’s count and added to Oahu’s. Kauai County now has 57 official COVID-19 cases.

Maui County’s total remains the same, at 381 cases.

There were 28 Hawaii residents who were diagnosed while out of state.

Of the cases statewide, 700 have required hospitalization, while 4,394 have been released from isolation as “recovered.”
