Born in Olaa and raised in Kalapana, he was a retired public school teacher for at-risk students, a Waikiki beach boy, founder and coach of Paddlers of Laka, former canoe paddling coach at Kamehameha High School and kahuna kalai wa‘a. Rosabella “Rose” Agustin Sacayanan, 71, of Papaaloa died July 24 at home. Born in Paoay, Philippines, she was a retired vegetable nursery worker for Mauna Kea Packing and member of St. Anthony Catholic Churchin Papaaloa.
