Larry Glenn Barnes, 70, of Hilo died May 27 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in New Castle, Pa., he was a general contractor for more than 40 years and a member of Puna Covenant Church. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Survived by wife, Xiumin Li of Hilo; two sons, Patrick Barnes of California and Donovan Barnes of Colorado; a daughter, Freida Zhao of Oahu; four sisters, Linda (Jack) Zembower of Pennsylvania, Sally (Randy) Anderson of New York, Shirley (Michael) Henderson of Volcano, and Jayne Reddinger of Michigan; a brother, Ed Barnes of Ohio; nieces and nephews.

Dennis Junior Christopher “Bogeit” Rodrigues, 73, of Hilo died May 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired sanitation worker for the city of Honolulu. Private services held. Survived by wife, Roxann Mahaulu Rodrigues of Hilo; brother, August Lopez Sr. of Honolulu; sisters, Jennifer Coltes Rivera of Las Vegas, Paulette Correa of Hilo, and Adele Mark of Killeen, Texas; niece, Darnell Haruguchi, of Pahoa; nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Daniel Hideo Umeno, 37, of Kailua-Kona died May 3 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, he was a chef and worked at major hotels and restaurants in Hawaii, Chicago, and Arizona. Private services will be held at a later date. Survived by parents, Michael and Judy Umeno of Kailua-Kona; brother, David (Koua) Umeno of Okinawa, Japan; two nieces; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
