Police seek suspect described as ‘armed and dangerous’

Police are seeking the public’s help to apprehend a 23-year-old man they consider armed and dangerous.

According to a police statement, Mikah K. Costa, who has no permanent address but is known to frequent Pahoa is wanted in two investigations involving a firearm — an armed robbery reported on Sunday and a reported theft of a firearm in October 2018.

Both offenses occurred in the Pahoa area, police said.

Costa is described as 5-foot-9 inches, 155 pounds, with a thin build, olive complexion, brown hair and hazel eyes. Police the public to not approach Costa.

In addition he’s wanted on a warrant of arrest and a warrant for contempt of court.

Costa has one felony conviction, for unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle on May, 18, 2016, for which he was sentenced to four years probation and a suspended jail term. In a deal with prosecutors, a misdemeanor assault charge was dropped in return for his guilty plea.

Court records indicate the arrest warrant was issued in 2018 for allegedly violating his probation.
