DOH reports 4 new COVID-19 cases, statewide total at 596

The state Department of Health reported four new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus as of noon today. That brings the statewide total to 596 cases.

One new case is on the Big Island, bringing the Hawaii County total to 68.

The City and County of Honolulu also reported one new case. Its total stands at 389.

Two new cases are in Maui County, bringing its total to 112 cases.

And Kauai County, which has Hawaii’s most stringent lockdown measures in place, remains at 21 cases, as it has for more than a week.

Six of the cases were diagnosed outside of the state, but are considered Hawaii cases in accordance with U.S. Centers for Disease Control guidelines.

Statewide, 63 individuals have required hospitalization for COVID-19 and 12 have died; 455 have been released from isolation.
