The state Department of Health reports only two new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus today in Hawaii, bringing the statewide total of cases to 586.
Both of the cases are in Maui County, which now has 110 cases.
Hawaii County remains at 64 cases, according to DOH. That is one case more than was reported this morning by Hwaii County Civil Defense.
Of the Big Island cases, 35 have been cleared as recovered and the remaining 28 are quarantined at home and being monitored, according to Civil Defense.
State Health Director Bruce Anderson previously said that one individual associated with a case cluster at three McDonald’s restaurants in Kailua-Kona was taken to an Oahu hospital for treatment.
For the second straight day, the City and County of Honolulu reports no new cases, and its total remains at 385.
Kauai County has reported no new cases for several days and the Garden Isle’s total remains at 21 cases.
Six Hawaii residents were diagnosed outside the state of Hawaii, but are reported as Hawaii cases according to U.S. Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
Statewide, 56 COVID-19 cases have required hospitalization, DOH said, and 437 have been released from isolation.
DOH said two men died overnight — one on Oahu, the other on Maui — bringing the statewide total of coronavirus-related deaths to 12.
Both men were reportedly 65 or older and had underlying health conditions.
