The state Department of Health is reporting 584 total cases of COVID-19 in Hawaii with only four new cases as of noon today.
That’s the lowest number of new cases reported in a single day in two months.
Two of the new cases are in Hawaii County, which has 64 cases overall, according to DOH. That count is one more case than reported earlier in the day by Hawaii County Civil Defense. Almost of half of those cases are part of a case cluster tied to three McDonald’s restaurants in Kailua-Kona. All of been closed.
The largest number of cases is in the City and County of Honolulu, with 385. Maui County has the second highest number with 108, and Kauai County, which is under the strictest lockdown status has the lowest number of cases, with 21.
Ten people have succumbed to coronavirus-related conditions, six on Oahu and four on Maui.
Six Hawaii residents were diagnosed while out of state, but the cases are counted as Hawaii cases, per U.S. Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
Statewide, 55 of the cases have required hospitalization and 423 have been released from isolation, DOH said.
