Phyllis Ann Alvarado, 91, of Kailua-Kona died April 11 at home. Born in St. Paul, Minn., she was a homemaker. No services planned at this time. Renae Jean Keakealani Cantyne, 71, of Hilo died April 5 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired director of housekeeping for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ainaola Ward. Private services held. Roberta Ann Cho, 65, of Honaunau died April 4 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Racine, Wis., she was a retired district registrar for the Department of Health. Services at a later date. Elaine Hi‘ilawe Fergerstrom Dochin, 94, of Waimea died April 12 at her daughter’s residence in Waikoloa. Born in Waimea, she was co-owner of the former original Kamuela Meat Market and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea Ward. Private services. Janet Kinue Murakami, 91, of Honokaa died April 11 at home. Born in Honokaa, she was retired from the former Honokaa Hospital, past president and member of Honokaa Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association, member of Honokaa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Honokaa Seniors Club, organizer for Honokaa Hongwanji Obon Festival, recipient of 2015 Hawaii County Outstanding Older American Female Award, previous member of the Honokaa Hongwanji New Dharma Band, hula sister with Halau Manu Lea Hawaii and past volunteer for North Hawaii Hospice program. Memorial services at a later date at Honokaa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Survived by husband, Kiyoshi Murakami of Honokaa; son, Wesley (Debbie) Murakami of Waimea; daughter, Wendy (John “Beau” Schneider) Murakami of Monson, Mass.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Charles Robert Thompson Jr., 76, of Kealakekua died March 18 at Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home in Hilo.
