The state Department of Health reports 13 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection as of noon today, making the statewide case total 517.

The number of cases by county, according to DOH, are: City and County of Honolulu, 358; Maui County, 88; Hawaii County, 41; and Kauai County. 21.

The county of origin for three cases are pending, DOH said.

According to DOH, the death toll statewide remains at nine, all on Oahu and Maui. There were 45 individuals who required hospitalization and 333 who have been released from isolation.

Six Hawaii residents were diagnosed outside of the state.

The Hawaii County total of 41 cases are two more than was reported by county Civil Defense earlier today. The county said 28 Big Island cases have been released from isolation and 11 are quarantined and being monitored.

A cluster of eight cases was identified in Kona because of a fast-food restaurant employee’s contact with family and fellow employees, Civil Defense said. They have not identified the establishment, but said it has been closed. According to Civil Defense, DOH has said it is unlikely customers were infected because of physical and procedural barriers in place at the restaurant.
