Iva Rogers Black Goldman, 88, of Hilo died March 12 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Blue Earth County, Minnesota, she was an associate professor of communications at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, where she taught for more than 50 years and served as department chairman, received the Chancellor’s Distinguished Service Award for Improving Student Life, and was a member of the Church of the Holy Apostles in Hilo.
