Don Michael Keahiokalani Canario, 66, of Hilo died Nov. 14 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Hawaii Police Department officer and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service/celebration of life at 6 p.m. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcome. Survived by daughters, Christina K. Dominga Abara Guillermo, 83, of Captain Cook died Nov. 4 at home. Hardy Terrance Mathews, 66, of Hilo died Nov. 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a professional musician with The Shindigs, carpenter, tree cutter, painter, ranch hand, groundskeeper and worked for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. until disabled by a motorcycle collision.
