A magnitude-4.9 earthquake that hit at 6:36 a.m. today wasn’t large enough to produce a localized tsunami, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.

The temblor was located about 11 miles southwest of Laupahoehoe at a depth of 20 miles.

Authorities reported debris on the roadway in the Hamakua District, according to Hawaii County Civil Defense.
