Edward Chang Sr., 87, of Lanai City, Lanai, died Sept. 4 at Adventist Health Castle in Kailua, Oahu. He was born in Napoopoo, South Kona. Private service held. Arrangements by Nuuanu Memorial Park &Mortuary.

Alfred Galiza Sr., 95, of Pahala died Oct. 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, he was a retired heavy equipment field serviceman for the former Ka‘u Agribusiness Co., retired U.S. Army National Guard veteran and member of Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcome. Burial at Pahala Catholic Church Cemetery. Survived by wife, Adela Galiza of Pahala; sons, Donovan Galiza of Honolulu, Dane (Sabina) Galiza, Alfred Galiza Jr. and Al Galiza of Pahala; daughters, Roxanne (Gerald) Gacayan of San Diego, Desiree (Cullen) Buyuan of Glenwood, Dagmar (Bob) Reeves of Georgia, Caresse Galiza of Florida and Deidre (Donnie) Burdette of Honokaa; sister, Connie Andres of Honolulu; 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Marcella “Mama Mapu” Leopoldino, 65, of Grand Island, Neb., died Oct. 25 at home. Born in Kohala, she was a bus driver for Laupahoehoe Transportation Co. and Hele-On. Hawaii celebration of life information at a later date. Survived by sons, Jeremy K. Rafael Sr. and Patrick D. Atiz Jr. of Hawaii, Archie K. Atiz Sr. of Nebraska; daughter, Stacy J.K. Atiz of Hawaii; hanai son, Trevor Leopoldino; brother, Philip “Po” Rafael of Hawaii; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and hanai family.

Norman “Kele” Oda, 74, of Lahaina, Maui, and Kurtistown died Oct. 3 at his home in Kurtistown. Born on Maui, he was a retired general contractor and woodworker. Survived by wife, Christine Oda; sons, Kula (Cori) Oda and Malino (Hillary) Oda; daughter, Juli (Jeff Heisler) Wittenmeier; sisters, Jackie Oda and Normadeene Musick; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Lesle Jean Wenzel, 101, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 2 at home. Born in San Francisco, she was a retired librarian, teacher and world traveler. Private service held.
