‘Imiloa Astronomy Center invites all kids ages 5-10 to come along on a voyage of fun, interactive and educational discovery during the fall intersession break.

Camp ‘Imi-Possible proudly presents Where The Sky Meets The Sea, an oceanic navigation adventure offered from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Oct. 7-11.

This week-long camp is filled with educational and thematic hands-on activities, games and art projects based in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM.

Campers will learn how to build their own wa‘a, make traditional cordage from the ground up using indigenous fibers and prepare and pack for the voyage.

Students will also learn about nighttime skies above Hawaii and how to navigate using the stars and the horizon — all within the educational settings of ‘Imiloa’s planetarium.

Additionally, students will learn how to use the interactive star compass and the various tools used in oceanic navigation including the stars, the moon, ocean currents, wind patterns, weather, flotsams and animal life.

Registration packets are available online at https://imiloahawaii.org/where-the-sky-meets-the-sea-fall-camp-for-kids or from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at ‘Imiloa.

Cost for ‘Imiloa members is $225 per child; $250 per child for non-members.

Space is limited; first come, first serve, and tuition is non-refundable.
