Police arrested a Hilo couple and charged them with numerous crimes stemming from motor vehicle thefts at Honolii Beach Park.

Travis Anzai, 22, and Shanlia Baker-Sigler, 23, were charged Friday with multiple offenses after a search warrant was served Thursday on a Laukapu Street home in Hilo.

Police say the search turned up heroin, evidence of drug distribution and ammunition in the home, plus evidence that linked the pair to motor vehicle thefts at Honolii.

Charges include drug possession and distribution, theft, auto theft and multiple counts of unauthorized possession of personal confidential information and credit card theft.

Anzai is being held on $307,000 bail and Baker-Sigler on $157,000 bail pending their court appearance Monday.
