East Hawaii Island Master Gardeners recently honored its 2019 graduates with a potluck and ceremony at Onekahakaha.

The class had four months of classroom and hands-on training in gardening in Hawaii.

The Master Gardener program is part of the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources. The East Hawaii Island Master Gardeners have a helpline, where Master Gardeners can answer the public’s gardening questions from 9 a.m.-noon Mondays and Fridays.

Those with questions also can get in-person help from Master Gardeners at 875 Komohana St. in Hilo or by calling 981-5199.
