Police seek suspect in wedding ring theft

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of stealing an engagement/wedding ring.

The victim reported that she left her ring on the counter of the Hele gas station on Palani Road in Kailua-Kona on May 26 just before 9 p.m.

Police say a review of the video surveillance footaget shows the man pictured picking up the ring and then placing it on one of his fingers before leaving in a rental vehicle.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s or 40s, Samoan, about 6-feet-tall, 240 pound with short brown hair and a tattoo on the left side of his face.
