Police ID woman struck, killed by car

A woman who was killed in a traffic collision Wednesday on Highway 130 has been identified.

The pedestrian, 66-year-old Jackie Yasuda of Pahoa, was killed Wednesday morning by a vehicle heading northbound on Highway 130.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, with the ensuing investigation closing Highway 130 for much of the day.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Hawaii Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit at 961-2339.
