Throughout next week, Hawaii police officers will take a break from “Serve and Protect” to just serving food.
The Hawaii Police Department’s annual “Tip-A-Cop” program will have off-duty officers waiting tables at restaurants in order to raise money for athletes of Special Olympics East Hawaii.
The officers — as well as other police department volunteers and Special Olympics personnel — can be found at Ken’s House of Pancakes today and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon; at Liko Lehua on Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; at Don’s Grill on Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and at Hula Hula’s on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
All donations raised in East Hawaii will remain with the athletes of Special Olympics East Hawaii.
