A Hawaii Island police officer has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

According to a police log, Daniel R. Ulrich, a 29-year-old Puna patrol officer, was arrested at 9:34 a.m. Monday on suspicion of domestic abuse and aggravated domestic abuse by strangulation.

Police spokesman Alan Richmond said Tuesday morning that Ulrich hadn’t been charged. He said more details are forthcoming.
