Rollin Lee Frost, 77, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 1 at home. Born in Oakland, Calif., he was a safety and health Engineer, professional astrologer and U.S. Army veteran. Moses Enoka Heanu, 69, of Keaau died Jan. 20 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired machinist. Sandra “Sandy” Louise Powers, 62, of Pahoa died Jan. 20 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. John “Smokey” Freitas Silva Jr., 90, of Hawaiian Beaches died Jan. 13 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Paauilo, he was a retired Hawaii Army National Guard master sergeant, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Young Men’s Institute, Association of Foresters Court Mauna Kea #8854, American Legion Hilo Post No. 3, Big Island National Guard Retirees Association and U.S. Army Vietnam era veteran.
