Gabriel “Joker” “Gabe” Kalani Ah Yo Jr., 63, of Hilo died Nov. 12 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a laborer, mechanic, entertainer and member of Hilo Jaycees. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Friday (Nov. 30) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Service at 6 p.m. Celebration of life and potluck noon-6 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 1) at Hawaiian Village in Keaukaha. Patrick Boteilho, 57, of Hilo formerly of Waianae, Oahu, died Oct. 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Services 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 85-574 Plantation Rd. in Waianae. Casual attire. Alison Yuriko Kaneshiro, 75, of Pahala died Nov. 10 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired support worker for the Arc of Hilo, homemaker and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Memorial Mass 10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 1) at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pahala. Casual attire; no flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by husband, Harold Kaneshiro of Pahala; brother, Warren (Brenda) Morimoto of Phoenix City, Ala.; sister, Lauren Riley of San Jose, Calif.; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Satoru “Sugar” Sugawara, 91, of Honokaa died Nov. 13 at a care home. Born in Paauilo, he was retired from the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and member of Paauilo Hongwanji Mission, ILWU Pensioners Club and was an ILWU delegate.
