Job fair slated for Saturday

North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea, an affiliate of The Queen’s Health Systems, will conduct a job fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 3) in the hospital’s Mauna Kea-Mauna Loa Room.

The hospital is hiring registered nurses, nurse aides, security officers, IT analysts, surgical and imaging technicians, home health professionals, office support positions and more.

On-site interviews will be conducted, and applicants are encouraged to bring their resumes.

Camacho named employee of the quarter

Candice Camacho, a medical assistant in North Hawaii Community Hospital’s Cancer Center, was named the hospital’s employee of the quarter.

Camacho has worked at NHCH for nearly 14 years and has experience in a variety of departments including the medical-surgical unit, intesive care unit, emergency room, family birthing and diabetes wellness.

She was honored for her exceptional service to patients.

“Candice is the glue that holds her department together,” said NHCH President Cindy Kamikawa. “Candice goes above and beyond for our patients. Candice is an amazing team player — she works hard, puts in long hours and always puts patients first.”

Camacho was honored during a ceremony at the hospital, along with fellow nominees Kalani Haina, Tanya Pamjimola and Brant Pelekane-Gentry.
