Martinson “Marty” Pele Kaniho Jr., 51, of Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of Waimea, died Aug. 26 at home. Born in California, he was a truck driver and member of Teamsters 959. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 13) at New Hope Waimea. Celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Vernon K. Karratti, 67, of Kapaau died Sept. 16 at home. Born in Maile, he owned VK Painting and was founder and former president of Kohala Baseball League (Youth Support Group). Hiroshi Haraguchi, 95, of Pepeekeo died Sept. 26 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a retired state grounds keeper. Visitation 4-5 p.m. Oct. 17 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Hilo. Charlene Irene O’Connor, 74, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 6 at home. Born in Portland, Ore., she was a missionary to China, worked with University of the Nations and YWAM. and member of Calvary Community Church. The late Irene Ikeda Nagata is survived by, among others, Dale (Sue Yung) Ikeda of San Francisco. Yung was misspelled in an obituary published Sunday.
