Born in Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a sugar plantation worker, practical nurse, emergency room technician at Hilo hospital, U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Hawaii Government Employee’s Association, Hilo Hospital Retired Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
