Police seek suspect after campus sexual assault

Police have asked for public assistance in locating a man in connection with a reported sexual assault at the University of Hawaii Hilo campus Thursday.

The man, described as a black male approximately six feet tall wearing black denim pants and a backpack, was reported by a female student to have accosted her in a campus restroom Thursday evening. The student said the man was unknown to her.

A security camera near where the alleged assault occurred recorded an image of a man matching the suspect’s description near the time and place of the incident.
